Lights Off!

EH_A2_Template_FINAL.indd

This year, Earth Hour has been transformed into the world’s first global election, between Earth and global warming.

For the first time in history, people of all ages, nationalities, race and background have the opportunity to use their light switch as their vote – Switching off your lights is a vote for Earth, or leaving them on is a vote for global warming. WWF are urging the world to VOTE EARTH and reach the target of 1 billion votes, which will be presented to world leaders at the Global Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen 2009.

This meeting will determine official government policies to take action against global warming, which will replace the Kyoto Protocol. It is the chance for the people of the world to make their voice heard.

Earth Hour began in Sydney in 2007, when 2.2 million homes and businesses switched off their lights for one hour. In 2008 the message had grown into a global sustainability movement, with 50 million people switching off their lights. Global landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Rome’s Colosseum, the Sydney Opera House and the Coca Cola billboard in Times Square all stood in darkness.

In 2009, Earth Hour is being taken to the next level, with the goal of 1 billion people switching off their lights as part of a global vote. Unlike any election in history, it is not about what country you’re from, but instead, what planet you’re from. VOTE EARTH is a global call to action for every individual, every business, and every community. A call to stand up and take control over the future of our planet. Over 74 countries and territories have pledged their support to VOTE EARTH during Earth Hour 2009, and this number is growing everyday.

We all have a vote, and every single vote counts. Together we can take control of the future of our planet, for future generations.

VOTE EARTH by simply switching off your lights for one hour, and join the world for Earth Hour.

17 Birthday =)

LEON DA FABULOUS TURNS 17 TODAY!

I am really taken down by surprise for time elapses too fast. Another year gone! My sweet 16 is off into thin air and I am officially a 17-year-old teen! Gosh! Anyway yesterday or before I have received texts, aural wishes and comments, wishing me birthday.

It all starts with Siew Kiing. She wishes me first at Friendster, followed by Keren who repeatedly wishing me until I instantly feel like my evil chocoholic sister Keren is wishing allthe previous 15 birthday which she owes me like a debt? XD. Anyway, I think I am compelled to return Keren with a zillion of gratitude! Muah sis! XD.

The wishes come in rolling unduly (I didnt mean to say the wishes are too much, I am simply touched!) I thank Zhann for her prexie, Kiki for her icy cold hand shake (pretty spacious huh?), my koperasi gang, Cindy, Pauline and Daniel's warm affectionate wishes, 5S1 forever friends, Dawson, Tan Yee, Eleen, Sze Tieng, Shirley, Gilbert, Eric, Zong He, Winnie etc.! What is the most touching of today is the birthday song! Gosh! I never expect they'll give me the biggest and most touching gift throughout my whole high school life! Thanks guys! I am totally speechless and I am really clenching my tears today! I am absolutely, positively touched! I am totally speechless and muted! I do not what to say besides a bunch of thanks!

Upon switching my phone, texts keep rolling in unduly. Felicia, Karen, Cheryl, Shirley (my formal teacher from Kapit), Aunty Agnes text me conveying their birthday wishes (if not what else.. duh XD) I am so touched! I am totally exultant at what have occured throughout the day! Only thing I miss the birthday wishes from an old pal of mine - Esther currently residing in Auckland! Hehe. Esther, please take some appropriate reaction upon reading my blog. XD. *vain much*

Oh I cant believe one thing! Mdm. Ting Yee Ung sent her regards too! Muaks Mdm Ting! Haha. She's totally like my mum. You'll know that if you are in my class. So a teacher pet am I. XD. I am really merry today and of course all those abundants of wishes and prexies and most of all the true FRIENDSHIP I'll cherish them forever inside the deep heart core. And this post is to tell everyone around the world that...

From Low Efficiency to Lazy

Oh my God! I know I dumped my blog vacant again, especially the gap between the previous 2 posts. It's approaching two weeks and mind I remind you, the longest I had ever extended was 10 days and now I am slagging to 2 weeks = 14 days!

Since last weekend, my health was faltering, thanks to some kind of diseases that infect me but good for me I am now in the pink, sitting healthily before the laptop screen, tapping my fingers around the keyboard, penning this post for my blog. See how good am I? *vain much*

I reminisced I started this blog 2 years ago. That time I was really an active blogger who penned profusely and the updates sometime was an astonishment to myself. I could fill up to 3 posts a day. What the choc. However, as each second of my life elapses, I suddenly treat blog as something trivial and I sometimes think that blogging is something adept, so leave it for the professional. Nyeh =). Blog is simply a wonderful hideout for you to store mementos.

Form 5 life is getting from bad to worse. Every single period you would not feel like missing it as every teacher who creep in *especially into our class* would throw stacks of exercises at us. Starting with BM today, Mdm. Ting compelled us to complete an essay, 35o words or more, in 2 periods! What the choc. I managed to scam through, just scribble bits here and get some ideas where else. Randomly, I finished penning an essay which has not hit the satisfication level for me as I usually write at least 2 1/2 pages, in PBK only, don't miss out the last part. XD.

English Dr. Lau walked in everyday, leaving some footprints behind. Gosh. Vocab assignments and grammar drills. Fortunate or not, you decide. Those pile of assignments will suffocate me to death. She boasted *sorry Dr. Lau, but I am compelled to use that term* that with her teaching, we would not need English tuitions anymore. Seriously, that's true enough. First, you would not have adequate time. Secondly, her teaching is way awesome and sometimes like a lecturer in tertiary education level. That's frank words from me. Dictionary becomes one of our best friend. They never fail at each attempt when you need to unlock the mysterious meaning of every single new vocab. Realise some new terms used in this post, millions of thanks to Dr. Lau although I had lots I had not managed to remember their definition.

Moral - lala. Again, Mdm. Missey is doing all those drills again. Sigh. Moral project - redo!! Why? Burnt in the fire? Seriously not. Mdm. Missey said the format has changed or something like that. As if we have much of a choice other than redo? Shit.

History - haul me straight to my sweet bed. XD. True enough. Revising Form 2 stuffs again and again, that's why Malaysians always like to repeat the similar stuff and old stories and never forward to the future. One thing good Mdm. Lee told us this morning, "We are left with no choice. Borned in Malaysia, study this type of sejarah loh..." I agreed with her, without hesitation =).

See?! With all these distractions and setbacks blocking me from updating my blog, what can I do besides waiting for a free second and I can hurriedly on my laptop and update my blog? Friendster's profile is dead for weeks, approaching months. Duh. I haven't bought any new reference books for this new academic year. Dead. Help me! Schedule some time for me!

GIMME 25 HOURS EACH DAY
*even 25 hours per day ain't adequate for me =p*

Life as a Malaysian teen - cool or uncool? you decide.

Senior year at KHS, last year wearing school uniform but facing a major exam - love it or loathe it? Your decision too.

conclusion: sighs~

Sick in the Midst of CNY

Yea. You wont believe it until I relate this coincidence occuring to you. It's the 13th day of CNY and 13 is the unluckiest number you can ever get in life, I fell sick! Gosh! I was still energetic for the entire morning. After lunch, I felt a little unwell, feeling so chilly and my sixth sense told me my health is appaling. Truly enough - I got HIGH FEVER! Gosh. I slept for hours during the entire afternoon and woke up at about 5. I ate only little during dinner. Haih.

Now, I start to be a little superstitious - 13 is equivalent to bad luck. Gosh. I hope I am recovering pronto. Sheesh. Gonna miss Kelab Kewangan meeting tomorrow. Well, no other alternatives besides staying home to get enough rest.

speedy recovery for me XD
